How exactly does the correspondence work?
You can send messages for free to any member, as long as their profile is active, and you don’t have more than one unopened message from them. If a woman doesn’t have Internet access, your message will be received by the staff of her local dating agency, who will translate it if necessary and deliver it to her in person, by phone or by regular mail. They will also translate her replies and send them to you. You will be notified by email every time you get a new message. If you don’t want to receive these notifications, you can change the status of your profile to Suspended or use another email address for your profile.
Until you write to a lady for the first time, her messages are free to open. After writing to a woman, you will have to pay a fixed price for opening her messages.
Why does the price of opening a message differ from lady to lady?
Many of our female members don’t have email addresses, or regular access to the Internet. This means that a worker from their local dating agency has to call them to notify them of new mail. Then the woman either has to come in person to the agency’s office, where a translator will help her read her mail and write responses, or the messages have to be read out to her over the phone, or printed out and mailed to her. All of this costs money and affects the price. Things are a lot easier when a woman does have an email address; in this case, the translated messages are just forwarded to her, and, consequently, her own messages will cost less to open. This flexible system allows you to correspond at affordable prices. Plenty of our female members have email addresses, and you can open their letters for as low as 0.5 credit.
There is another reason for the differentiation. The price rises with the woman’s popularity (that is, how many letters she is receiving), thus limiting the number of men who are able to correspond with her and motivating them to turn their attention to other women who may have gone unnoticed otherwise. If a lady becomes too popular, with too many letters going unanswered and a further price increase no longer being practical, her profile is omitted from search results, although the men she is already in contact with will still be able to correspond with her. If a member is not answering any letters, their profile will be suspended after a while and later removed for inactivity.
The price in credits you actually pay for opening a message from a given female member will be based on the above two factors and vary from 0.5 to 20 credits
Is it safe to use my credit card on your website?
As safe as it can be on the Internet. The payments are processed our own secure server using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), the most common cryptographic protocol employed by online businesses. Your credit card information, as well as all other information about your order, is transmitted securely to ensure privacy. Your credit card data stays encrypted until it reaches your processing bank via a dedicated line. Only you, us and the processing bank have access to unencrypted credit card information. Also, we never keep your credit card information on the server; it is kept on our internal computers for the purpose of assisting clients of they have trouble with their online orders and issuing refunds. Per Visa and MasterCard regulations, we do not save the CVV code (the security code on the back of your card), and the card number is in most cases useless without that code.
While reliable, SSL encryption is not unbreakable, so if you want your credit card information to be 100% secure, don’t use it online. On the other hand, the probability of your card details actually getting stolen is low (we have had no such cases since 1997) because it is rarely worth the effort: purchases worth more than a few hundred dollars can hardly be made with credit card details alone, without possessing the card itself. Besides, with most credit cards you are not liable for the fraudulent use of your card information or your maximum liability is $50.
